4 Ways To Feel Loved This Valentine's Day

Does anyone really care about Valentine's Day anymore?

Maybe it's because I'm getting older and pretend to have a much better handle on what's important in life, but I don't necessarily see the value in this "holiday." And this is coming from someone who has a valentine about whom I'm extremely excited.

I mean, it's gotten to the point that even writing a piece about the day seems trite. THAT BEING SAID, if ever there was a day to slow down and proverbially stop and smell the roses (or quite literally, in some cases), this Saturday would be it. With that in mind, here are 4 ways to get the most out of your Satur -- er... Valentine's Day, for the single, spoken-for, or spiteful.

1) Do you, girl.

Book a 90-minute massage with Mauricio, that ridiculously ripped Adonis of a masseuse at your favorite spa. Get centered, get relaxed, get lost in some 50 Shades of Gray fantasy...

2) Write love notes to your friends.

For one, who doesn't love getting cards? It still may be one of the sweetest sentiments out there. And two, pouring your heart out to your dearest BFFs fills you up with gratitude for them always being there through all your breakdowns and breakups.

3) Swipe right.

Your ego gets a boost whenever you match with someone on Hinge, Tinder or OkCupid, right? Pay it forward, put "picky" to rest for a day and say yes to a potential match. So what if he's not "perfect"? No one is.

4) Volunteer.

The best way to feel and receive love is to give love. Getting outside yourself and helping someone who's rally going through it makes you feel grateful, of service and purposeful. All good things.
