Did you know that in the United States alone 20 billion pounds or 40% of food goes to waste while 50 million or 20% of people live in food insecurity? Yeah, we had a hard time processing too...

When we think about people going hungry in this country because they can’t access food, it’s hard to imagine the sense and sensibility in tossing out delicious produce. The reality is grocery stores reject perfectly fresh fruits and veggies because of aesthetic imperfections or logistical inefficiencies. How convenient for them, and totally unsustainable for our planet!!

Every person has the right to eat healthy and every fruit and vegetable deserves to be eaten.

On a mission to end food waste and hunger, farm to doorstep rescued produce delivery company Hungry Harvest partners with farmers and wholesalers to rescue fruits and vegetables that would otherwise go uneaten. They then curate and deliver produce variety boxes to subscribers’ doorsteps starting at $17 (20% - 30% below grocery price). Rescued harvests come in a multitude of shapes and sizes, and subscribers can customize or boost their harvest with fresh add-ons such as bread and guacamole kits.

Already, the Shark Tank startup has reduced 4 million pounds of food from going to the landfill. Through reduced-cost markets and donations, they’ve been able to provide access to over 500,000 pounds of produce to people in need. In South Florida, Hungry Harvest deliveries also support donations to the Lotus House Women’s Shelter.

Talk about elevating comfort and minimizing decision fatigue! Every Hungry Harvest 📦 makes healthy eating accessible and sustainable, while reducing about ten pounds of produce from going to waste. If that's not revolutionizing the food system, we don't know what is!!
