Meet The Newest Veggie In Our Patch!

Meet BAMMIES' "LIFE OF THE PARTY" and one woman content machine, Jess Mendez. This precocious twenty something loves BAMMIES, karaoke, and all that glitters. Follow her on Instagram to keep up with her daily adventures!

What piece of clothing could you not live without?

I own a pair of flowing cropped trousers from Zara that quite literally add sparkle to my life. They're radiant, extremely breathable, and so easy to dress up or down. This pair and the Joan Cropped Trouser are the only pants I trust with all my crazy as of late... and the best thing is I'm ready to chill or party like it's 1995!!

If you had to pick one color for your entire wardrobe (besides black or white), what would it be and why?

Shades of eggplant... dark purples compliment my hair/ eye color, and make me feel sexy! I've been experimenting with lighter shades as of late which I love because I find them to be slightly more playful and fun. (Currently rocking an all-black look featuring a frosty lilac on my lids and nails.)

What's something you struggle with on the daily and how do you deal with it?

I'm in my head a lot. I deal with self-doubt more often than not because I'm very tenacious and slightly neurotic. I overcome the negative by feeding the positive, and emoting or switching things up as needed. Exercise, yoga, meditation, writing, and crying are all ways I decompress and tune out the noise because all the negative that floats around and in our heads does NOT belong to us!! (Paul from Tropical Vinyasa taught me that)

What's your superpower?

I'm a disco ball of enthusiasm and energy. I love connecting with and uplifting others, exploring multiple perspectives, and distilling messages. I'm extremely expressive, so it's very important for me to understand my own and others' emotions.

What would you want your 40 year old self to be known for and live by?

I want forty year old Jess to be filled with an insatiable zest for life, and the adventurous spirit of four year old Jess. I guess I hope forty year old me is an author/ karaoke bar owner/ showrunner/ comedian and is less clumsy, married and/or has children? More than anything, I hope she hasn't lost her appetite and sense of wonder.
